Parent Code of Conduct

As a CBS Minor Baseball parent/guardian I agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

  • I will treat all participants with respect by always demonstrating appropriate and mature adult behavior.
  • I will not use abusive or foul language and will never yell at or criticize an umpire, coach, player or other parent.
  • I will remember that children participate to have fun, and that the game is for youth, not adults.
  • I will have realistic expectations for players, coaches and umpires. Commitment, teamwork, making friends, and gaining self-confidence are the important skills we are trying to teach.
  • I will respect the efforts of the volunteers that allow CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association to exist, particularly the coaches that are so critical to the success of the program.
  • I will read and understand the playing rules and program philosophy of the team and age level that my son or daughter is participating.
  • I will support my son or daughter and his or her teammates by only cheering for his or her team positively, and never negatively against the opposing team.
  • I will not drink alcoholic beverages, smoke, chew tobacco and/or partake in use of drugs at a game or practice. These practices are prohibited by law and by League rules.
  • I will drop-off and pick-up my player on time for all practices and games at the time requested by my son or daughter's coach.
  • I will inform the coach as far in advance as possible of any absence or late arrival that cannot be avoided.
  • I will remain away from the dugouts at all times, unless I have been asked to be there or on the field in an official capacity by a coach, umpire or official.
  • I will abide by the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association's Social Media Policy.
  • I will observe a 24-hour rule and schedule a time to discuss an issue with the coach away from the distractions of the field and team.
  • I will contact the Board of Directors at an appropriate time if I have concerns about the League, coaches, umpires, or any other aspect of the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association.
  • I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I may be subject to disciplinary action levied by CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Executive that could include but is not limited to the following:
    • Verbal warning
    • Written warning
    • Restricted from attending a specified number of attending games/practices
    • Restricted from attending games/practices for remainder season, including postseason
    • Please keep in mind that your actions may have an impact on your son or daughters enjoyment of the game and in serious situations could lead to suspension or release of a player based on the actions you take.
